Band Boosters Meeting
January 27, 2025
Call to Order: Ryan Bradford called the meeting to order at 7:05pm.
Approval of minutes from November Meeting: Neal Reeves motioned and Michelle Laroche seconded – motion approved.
Presidents Report:
- Orlando Trip Meeting – Next Monday, February 3rd in the FHS Auditorium at 7pm
- Fundraising – Very important during a trip year, messaging for a fundraising committee will be coming out soon, please look for that if that is something you’re interested in. 2 forms of fundraising will be focused on – entire band and individual accounts.
- Winter Guard – Season has begun and the first competitions start this weekend.
- Winter Percussion – Please see Ryan Bradford to offer help for percussion props and food.
- Chamber Concert – 2/6 – INCORRECT Please remove!!
- Jazz Concert – 2/25 – INCORRECT please remove!!!
Directors Report:
- Performance this weekend for winter guards this weekend JV 4:25 , A 7:15 , World 8:55 Please come out and support our groups.
- Percussion had their first Saturday Camp. —- Reminder WGI Championships is DURING SPRING BREAK there will be camp days and then the actual performance that weekend.
- Curricular Bands are putting together new material and working on basics with scales and intonation skills based assignments to boost fundamentals and Wind Ensemble is working on a recording to submit to the MidWest Competition.
- Melia Wright and Everette Winters will be participating in State Bands with Carter Smith as an alternative. Aaron Burger just receive a contract for DCI Cavaliers.
- Pep Band and Jazz band are doing well with attendance, performances, and practices.
- Orlando will be a Competition during a Trip year…the show will be going on the road! Planning is going very well and much further than previous years. ISSMA competition will not be attended due to missing regional performances. This makes this even more important for families to understand that this trip is a part of next year’s competition schedule and NOT in addition to it.
Vice President Report:
- Start thinking about the new incoming Junior Executive Board Members – messaging will be coming out in the next few months.
Treasurer Report
- Please review the statement of activity on our website to review numbers.
- Between donations and budget adjusted we were still close to marching band budgets in some areas but due to fewer numbers are approx 20k behind. General funds will cover this.
Secretary Report
- No announcements.
Student Accounts Report
- Student Accounts Update
- Marching Band – One account cleared and another family took care of back fees. 7 families still owe – 3547.98 (non-scholarship) 3 families have not yet met family total – 4,167 (would be minus 1600 in scholarships 2,500)
- $6,114 still outstanding
- Scholarships – amount will be slightly lower, indoor visual team lowered fees and one was a duplicate approx $9,100
- Current Winter Programs – collect about 70% for Percussion and 79% for Winter Guard.
- Marching Band – One account cleared and another family took care of back fees. 7 families still owe – 3547.98 (non-scholarship) 3 families have not yet met family total – 4,167 (would be minus 1600 in scholarships 2,500)
Committee Updates
- Guard – Props in progress for first competition this weekend.
- Percussion – Please see Ryan Bradford for props help also need a semi truck driver for 2/22 and 3/15.
- Fundraising – please bring ideas and help to our executive board members – we need new energy and new ideas. Still looking for committee chairs to organize individual and group fundraisers.
- Spirit Wear – Webstore is linked on the Website, show items will be sent out via directors.
Open Discussion
- Calendar on the Website is updated. Please look at the website for additional dates for the Summer/Fall dates. Additional changes are coming.
