Band Boosters Meeting
April 21, 2025
Call to order: Ryan Bradford called the meeting to order at 7:06pm
Approval of minutes from April meeting: Shaughn Riley motioned and Ben Sample seconded.
Motion approved.
President’s Report
• ISSMA Preview concert tomorrow night 4/22 – buy your tickets ahead of time.
• ISSMA District competition hosted at FHS this weekend, 4/25-26. Key volunteer spots are
covered but we still need help with a number of spots – move things on stage, being a guide
for ensembles. Please check Signup Genius and sign up if you can help; students as well.
Volunteers report to CCA.
• Marching band registration night is April 30th.
– It’s not too late to sign up for Orlando trip!
– 6-7pm open house style, introduction to committees outside auditorium. 7:00pm
presentation begins in auditorium.
– Section parents: If you plan to return as a section parent next year, please stand at
committee chair table
• Wind Ensemble: May 3rd ISSMA state qualifier – call time at 8:00am, perform at 10:20am
• Game Show Roadshow fundraiser May 4th. Share outside of band. We keep 100% of
proceeds! Links: FB event page and purchase tickets
• Wind Ensemble: Palladium concert is May 6th. Transportation is not included. Students need
to be at the Palladium in Carmel by 4:15pm. Parent tip: If you buy tickets, don’t buy in the
lowest rows as you may have difficulty seeing.
• Wind Ensemble: ISSMA State finals is May 10th at Lawrence Central. Need a driver for Tiger
Cub truck. See Ryan if able.
• Jazz Cafe May 12th in CCA this year.
• Spring concert at Nickelplate is May 14th – bring lawn chair, free event! Food trucks will be
on site. If raining, will take place in FHS auditorium.
• Next booster meeting is May 19th at 7:00pm please come! This is an important meeting due
to voting in the new Junior board and the budget.
• Senior scholarship application is out – due May 2nd, two $1,000 scholarships will be
distributed.
Vice President Report • So far we have earned from $27,600 Lucas Oil and Fairgrounds just for March and April.
Conner Prairie will pick up end of June.
Treasurer Report • Financial Report YTD – please see attachments. • Proposed budget 2025-26 – please see attachments.
Director Report • Junior High concerts will be at FHS Auditorium: May 21st FJH and May 22nd RJH.
Encourage RJH kids to attend – Mr. Harrod’s retirement, final bow!
Student Accounts Report • Wrapping up for the year. Some families are waiting on fundraising deposits to be
made.
Vice President Report • Present slate for junior officers for next year. Bios were in newsletter. May 19th they will
introduce themselves and we will vote.
Spirit Wear Committee • Spirit wear link is still live here. We have raised $11,140 through the new vendor – they
are donating 15% back to the band. • Looking for more parents to join the committee, ideally a representative w/each
program – i.e. a guard parent, a percussion parent, etc
Sponsorships/Fundraising Committee • Currently we do not have someone filling this much-needed role. Please reach out to
[email protected] if interested.
Miscellaneous Business • Chad gave a heartfelt thanks to guard and percussion parents for their dedication,
especially in stressful (wind, rain) situations. • Brent LaRoche – Looking for those who can help with clearing out/cleaning up the barn
in preparation for the new season and arrival of the upcoming show’s props. Please
meet May 17th 9am-noon at the barn. • Ben Sample was winner of $25 into student account
