Supporting Our Students

The Fishers High School Band Booster organization is a group of parents and community volunteers dedicated to supporting the band program at Fishers High School with their time, energy, talents, and finances. The Fishers High School Band Boosters is a 501(c)3 organization governed by an Executive Board. The Boosters have a Leadership Team of committee chairs, which help manage various activities and fundraisers throughout the year. Booster (Parent) meetings are held monthly every 2nd Tuesday of the month, throughout the year in the Fishers Band room.

Volunteers are needed throughout the year to help with everything from Band Camp to fundraisers to chaperoning performances, and more. If your child is a part of the Fishers Band program, we hope that you will consider giving a few hours of your time to support them. The opportunities to help are endless. If you find a committee of interest, simply connect with the committee chairs and they will get you started. If there is a way that you think you can help that is not listed, contact our Booster presidents.

WE WILL

Support the needs of the students and the vision of the directors by providing resources and opportunities for all to achieve excellence in music and a meaningful life experience

Assist in raising funds to support the financial needs of the Fishers TIGER band program supplementing the funding provided by the HSE school corporation

Provide parental assistance to the band department when needed for all band opportunities both curricular and extracurricular

Publicize the needs of the band department to the public and the school community and prioritize the needs of the band department to the public and community

Support the band program’s programming as established by the Directors of the band program

Continue to help and support with long rage planning and expansion of the program to feeder schools within the district

Here is the current slate for the vote on May 11th. 2026-2027 Slate

Our Fishers High School Band Boosters Executive Board features a junior/senior officer system for continuity and shared leadership. Each office is filled by two separately elected parents: a Senior Officer (elected the prior year) and a Junior Officer (elected the current year). The Junior Officer works closely with the Senior Officer to handle responsibilities. The term is two years, creating an annual opening for a new junior officer.

Here are the positions and their key responsibilities:

President(s) – Sr. President & Jr. President Serve as the chief leaders of the organization. Presiding over all Executive Board and Booster member meetings, call special meetings as needed, works directly with the Treasurer on financial matters, and approve/sign contracts, correspondence, tax returns, legal filings, and other official documents on behalf of the Boosters.
Vice President(s) – Sr. Vice President & Jr. Vice President Support the Presidents and provide leadership continuity. Preside over meetings in the Presidents’ absence, assume full Presidential duties if needed, and handle any additional tasks delegated by the Presidents.
Treasurer(s) – Sr. Treasurer & Jr. Treasurer Manage the Boosters’ finances with accuracy and transparency. Pay budgeted and approved bills, deposit receipts and maintain bank balances (with Student Accounts assistance), prepare financial reports/statements for meetings, year-end reports, tax returns, 501(c)(3) filings, and 1099s, assist with the annual budget, and provide documentation for reviews/audits. Checks require co-signature by a President (or band director if unavailable); the Junior Treasurer may not sign checks or handle payments/deposits without Senior Treasurer authorization.
Student Accounts Representative(s) – Sr. Student Accounts & Jr. Student Accounts Oversee individual student accounts to support families and fundraising. Maintain accurate records, assist the Treasurer with deposits as requested, send account updates to students/parents at least quarterly (or more often), pursue collection of delinquent accounts, report at meetings, and keep all student account information confidential.
Secretary(s) – Sr. Secretary & Jr. Secretary Handle official records and communication. Record and present minutes from Booster member meetings for approval, maintain permanent files of minutes, reports, correspondence, financials, and other documents per the retention policy, manage all official Booster correspondence, post approved meeting minutes on the band website, and prepare informational binders for new board members (including bylaws, policies, balance sheets, etc.).

Elections will take place at the annual booster meeting on the second Monday of May.
