The Jazz Band will be performing at the Pendleton Jazz Festival this coming Saturday February 9th. This year we will have FOUR groups in the festival. The performance times are as follows:

  • Jazz 3 – 10:55 AM in the Lecture hall
  • Jazz 2 – 2:25 PM in the Lecture hall
  • Jazz 4 – 3:30 PM in the Lecture hall
  • Jazz 1 – 4:50 PM in the Auditorium

All of these performances take place at Pendleton Heights High School and are free and open to the public

Each year the Pendleton Festival hosts and student honor band. These are students are selected from participating groups and rehearse outside of the school day. This year the band will be directed by Dr. Matt Pivec from Butler University and will play with guest artist, internationally acclaimed Jazz drummer Stockton Helbing. This year four FHS Jazz students were selected to the Pendleton Jazz Fest Honor Band:

  • Kyra King – Tenor Sax
  • Nolan Lehman – Trumpet
  • Isabell Weideman – Trombone
  • Gabe Glover – Drum Set

This group will perform on the evening concert along with the University of Indianapolis Jazz Ensemble and the Directors Jazz Orchestra. The concert open to the public, will be held at Pendleton Heights High School, and admission is $6.
