MEETING AGENDA – August 11, 2025

 

  1. Call Meeting to Order:

  3. Presidents Report

      1. If you can help financially support another student, or work with a business that can, please reach out to president@fishersband.org or to Mr. Kohler.
    3. Car Wash
      1. A group won 🙂
      2. Raised around $4000
      3. Location – if anyone has a location idea, please reach out
      4. Looking for someone to join the car wash team
    4. Football Games
      1. 4 chaperones needed for football games
    5. Invitational and Craft Fair
      1. October 4th
      2. We need volunteers for both
      3. Invitational committee chairs needed
      4. Craft Fair – 2 vendor spots to fill
        1. Chair needed for next year
  4. Directors Report
    1. Please make sure students are attending rehearsals, communicate if they will miss
    2. Band/Percussion/Guard Classes have all started
    3. Fall concert is October 7th
    4. Practice this Thursday is 3:15-5:00 due to Parent Open House
    5. Mr. Kohler needs a parent to act as trip liaison for the band
    6. First Responder team for games and contests
    7. Invitational is important – we have 13 bands registered so far
  5. Mattress Sale Update
    1. Sunday, September 7th 11am-6pm
    2. Contact your friends and family about sale
    3. Over the last 3 years, Fishers bands have raised $31,715
    4. Goal is to sell at least 50 mattresses
    5. Student and Parent volunteers needed day of sale
    6. Student Referrals: $25+ per mattress
    7. Showroom in Greenwood – Mattress Solutions 733 Loews Blvd Ste B, Greenwood, IN 46142 M-Sa (11-7) Sun (12-5
    8. Mattresses delivered around 3 weeks after the sale

      1. Safe Visitor badge needed for volunteering with students
  7. Treasurer Report
    1. Budget Update
      1. Band Camp food budget was way under, thank you for food donations!
    2. Spirit Wear Update
      1. Online spirit wear store – fishersband.org, scroll to the bottom and click on spirit wear link. Show shirts aren’t available yet but will be soon. General band, percussion, guard, senior parent shirts are currently available.
      2. Money back to the band for spirit wear purchases
      3. Kids don’t need to order a show shirt – it’s included in their fees
  8. Secretary Report
    1. Cuttime/Newsletter
      1. Anyone can sign up for the newsletter, Cuttime is for parents/students only
    2. If you don’t get the newsletter, there is a link to sign up on the website
  9. Student Accounts Report
    1. Overall Update on accounts
      1. 127 people are paid in full, thank you!
      2. If you are behind on payments, please contact student accounts
      3. 39 scholarships were awarded for the fall season
  10. Committee Updates
    1. Sponsorship
      1. Currently reaching out to companies to donate money/food to band, we need connections to businesses
    2. Props
      1. Wednesdays when needed
      2. This Wednesday – working on guard flag storage
      3. Prop shirts – email Neil or Brent with shirt size if you plan on being a prop parent during competitions
    3. Invitational
    4. Food
      1. Thank you to everyone that has donated food so far!
    5. Uniforms
      1. Everyone should have been fitted for bibbers.
      2. Shoes will be fitted this week.
      3. Volunteers will be needed for Shako modification.
  11. Open Discussion
    1. $500 earned for attendance at meeting! (From Mattress fundraiser)
    2. Final Orlando itinerary should be available in around 2 weeks
    3. Uniforms should be in for the first competition
    4. Columbus, Ohio BOA – Performance time – block 4 (2:15-4:15)
    5. Thursday 9:15pm Prelims Grand Nats
    6. Football Senior Night – October 3rd
    7. Bandcoming does not have a date yet
  12. Schedule Change: 9/1 – No Rehearsal, 9/3 Add rehearsal 3:15-6:00pm
  13. VIP Drawing – Erin Rogers earned $25
