FISHERS BAND BOOSTERS MEETING MINUTES 

September 8, 2025 – 7:00pm

 

  1. Call Meeting to Order – Meeting started at 7:03pm
  2. Approval of minutes from 8/11/2025 Meeting – motioned, approved
  3. Board Actions 
    1. Sam’s business membership
      1. Will help with invitational, events, keep a receipt!
      2. Tax exempt will be on file with membership
    2. Orlando Scholarship Amount 
      1. Donation drive raised around $5000
      2. Form will be shared with everyone to apply for help
        1. Will come out within 48 hours
        2. Rainy Day Fund possibly available to use
        3. Can the money be used to borrow while waiting for personal fundraising funds to come in? 
          1. As long as the payout report verifies funds, we should be able to work with that.
  4. Fundraising Updates

    5. Personal Fundraising General Fund – $2200
    6. Personal Fundraising for Individuals – $18,000

    1. Treasurer – August deficit of -$41,811.86, Year to Date (July 1) is up $37,907.85, Last 12 months up 24,902.51.
    2. Student Accounts – 227 Members, 181 up to date with payments, 148 fully paid.

  6. Directors’ Report
    1. Mr. Johnson – Show was really cool on Saturday. Enhancing everything to make even better. 
    2. Mr. Gardner – The judging panel on Saturday LOVES the show. They said this show will take us places.
    3. Mr. Kohler – The panel last weekend was a BOA semifinals panel. We went to Brownsburg because we wanted critical feedback early. The performance wasn’t stellar, it wasn’t anything like Thursday (which was amazing). We are evaluated on the what and the how. 
      1. Late start on Saturday (10am), perform at 9:36pm at Lawrence – will perform movements 1 and 2.
      2. Not performing movement 3 yet – percussively, it is a BEAR.
      3. Columbus is going to be a long day
        1. Here at 5:45am, on bus at 6am, travel 6-9, rehearse from 9-12, feed lunch, get on bus, go to the stadium, perform in prelims at 3:45, first finalist band at 7:15pm, awards at 10:30pm, on bus at 11:30, back on Sunday at 2:30AM.
      4. Tell your kids to talk to directors if they are struggling with their grades
      5. School year is going well – every class is better than last year
      6. Uniforms will be worn for the rest of the football games
      7. Kids will be released early at the football game before Columbus (after half time)

  8. Craft Fair – October 4
    1. Updates – Co-Chair for craft fair needed next year! Sign-ups will come out within the next couple of weeks. Volunteer coordinator needed the day of the craft fair.

      1. Portillo’s is donating this Friday’s meal, they are also donating October 3rd. Texas Roadhouse is donating two meals as well.

      4. Join the sponsorship team, help is needed!
      5. Cluster Truck dine to donate is going on now through Saturday – limited Fishers delivery but is all over indy/carmel, and you can pick up orders.

      1. Props were loaded in 40 minutes on Saturday!

      3. Please help unload after competitions, everyone gets to leave sooner
